Hejnar Photo Table-Pod TP-001 Macro Ball Head Base introduced last year has undergone some minor but crucial improvement in order to increase its stability when using longer lenses.
In order to succeed that, four new 3/8"-16 mounting holes have been drilled peripherally giving the ability to the end user to mount the ball head off center, thus maintaining the center of gravity within the pod base frame.
Otherwise all other characteristics remain the same.

Therefore, the Table-Pod can now support lenses with longer focal lengths and physical lengths.
As forementioned the TP-002 besides the center mounting hole for the 3/8"-16 stainless steel stud and the of four holes, two on each side of the center hole features four (4) new
These holes are meant for direct mounting either a Hejnar F62 or F63 QR clamp as we shall see further down.
The bottom view of the TP-001 shows the four black rubber feet held in place by large hex cap bolts. The 3/8"-16 mounting stud is equipped with a large slotted head on the bottom side, which helps for fast mounting / dismounting of a head and tightening with a coin or a flat screw driver.
Next to the slotted screw head are lined up the 10-32 tapped holes which are obviously passing through the other side of the plate.
Uses of the Pod
As reminder, the holes in line with the central stud, which are tapped 10-32 and spaced 30 and 45 mm apart from each other. are provided for mounting a Hejnar QR clamp directly. This gives a very large base to the clamp, adding utmost versatility for ground level or table-top level work.
Nevertheless, the more usual function of the Table-Pod is to be used as a broader base for a ball head or any head increasing its stability.
Either in the center...
Or in one of the 4 peripheral holes close to the inner edges of the X platform.
So as to maintain the center of gravity within the limits of the base, when using a longer and heavier lens like the Fujinon below.
