It's almost a year after Sunwayfoto has decided to enter the Mobile Accessories market with the very versatile and innovative CPC-01 mobile phone bracket.
After six months came the simplified CPC-02 mobile phone bracket and now Sunwayfoto engineers go one step deeper into this growing market designing a full featured Micro-slip Slide, the M1!
Well, to tell you the truth I did not expect so many features coming from such a small slide. Precise bearings operating on a double track and best quality high strand wire smoothing the movement like a big slide.

The M1 Micro-slip Slide follows Sunwayfoto standards in CNC machining and corrosion resistant hard coat anodizing.
It is quite compact in size using an ingenious way to expand its travel, featuring two independent platforms connected with a wire, which move the one in the opposite direction of the other.
The top platform is equipped with a 1/4"-20 stud for the mounting of devices directly or via abracket and the lower platform has a 3/8"-16 threaded hole for mounting on a tripod. A reducer bushing can make the mounting to 1/4"-20 studs possible.
The top platform has two Φ center marks opposing each other on the two sides adjacent to the laser engraved scales on the long dimension of the M1 body. The scales count from 0 to 140 mm in 1 mm increments on both directions.

Structural Elements
Sunwayfoto has a long time gained reputation for high quality products and this is also obvious here by the choice of materials used on the M1.
Although a small device, addressed to mobile phone videography enthousiasts, the slide wire which interconnects the two platforms is a 7*19 strings stainless steel wire. It's an overkill for the purpose but ensures corrosion resistance, durability and high tensile resistance. It will serve its purpose for years without problem.
Each platform slides on four shaft bearings (total eight) made by NSK Japan, famous for its quality, a fact that ensures smooth movement on the CNCed tracks on the internal perimeter of the M1 body.
Nevetheless, we can see in the picture above how the lower platform moves on its four wheels interconnected with the wire in the opposite direction of the top one.

The M1 Micro-slip Slide comes in three configurations. The standard M1 stand alone unit and two other packages where it is accompanied by useful mobile phone accessories.

Applications
The M1 can be sat either on a table top or better be mounted by the bottom 3/8"-16 mounting hole of the lower platform on a tripod. This later installation doubles the M1 travel abilities since the lower platform, being connected with the multi strand wire, moves independently and in the opposite direction of the top platform where your gear is attached.
So, if for example the top platform is pushed to the left, the lower platform travels to the right and vise versa. Therefore, as each platform has a 140 mm travel the device mounted on the M1 can cover a total distance of 280 mm as illustrate by the M1-T1 configuration below..

The M1-T2 configuration can give some extra shooting angles as illustrated below, since the XB-28 ball head structure pivots at a lower level than he CPC-01 above.

As clearly noted by the manufacturer, for best results and in order to avoid image flutter, the total load should not exceed the load capacity of 0.8 kg of the M1.
