A Full Series of Video Bowl Risers available from Desmond

DV Head leveling via half balls, either directly attached at the bottom of a fluid DV head or as an addendum to a flat based DV head, is common sense to videographers.

Large Video Tripods equipped with 75 or 100 mm bowls are a must to operate this heads. Nonetheless, in the recent years more and more Systematic carbon fibre tripods in circulation feature a Video Bowl as an option.

So far so good.
What if we don't have either? Or if the situation does not permit / allow for a large Video and/or Systematic tripod?

Then the use of a Hi-Hat could come in rescue.
But still if even a Hi-Hat is too much?

Soon after the Hejnar PHOTO F-GH2780QR Arca QR Clamp for Gitzo Ball Heads, Chris Hejnar has intrioduced another conversion for Gitzo® heads.

Somehow the previous model was quite large, designed specifically to fit the size of the Gitzo® GH2780QR Center ballhead with quick release.

Up to now Hejnar PHOTO has successfully designed and released quite a number of conversion plates as well as clamps for various Manfrotto® heads, in order to enable the use of versatile Arca-Swiss® compatible quick release plates, rails or L brackets with them.
It was about time for Chris Hejnar to introduce a conversion for Gitzo® heads, with a new replacement clamp designed specifically to fit the Gitzo® GH2780QR Center ballhead with quick release.

Gitzo Introduced the New Mountaineer Tripod Range

Gitzo launched the new Mountaineer Tripod range on February 12th 2014, where according to their announcement their Mountaineer Range was completely redesigned:

New Desmond DGZA-1 Arca Compatible Plate Adapter for Gitzo Heads

Desmond Photographic Distribution has enriched their Gitzo® line of accessories announcing a new Arca-Swiss® compatible adapter plate for Gitzo® Ball and Pan head quick release system.

Unlike some plastic counterparts the Desmond DGZA-1 is made entirely of Aluminium in one piece design, promising durability and precision.

As for its weight, it's only 21 gr (74oz).

New Desmond DBH Tension Control Ball Head - Updated

After the introduction of a full line of Arca-Swiss® compatible Quick Release Clamps, it was inevitable for Desmond Photographic Distribution, USA to introduce a matching in many respects ball head.

The just released Desmond DBH Ball Head does not resemble to the majority of ball heads which follow the Arca-Swiss® concept and design pattern.
It differs a lot by following a concept introduced by Gitzo® ball heads some years ago, which exercises pressure to the ball-head ball sideways, counterbalanced by an opposing spring.

This design promises a very smooth operation and precise tension control, featuring an oversized comfort-grip control knob, independently adjustable tension control and an independent pan lock knob.

Desmond Photographic Distribution has announced a new camera base plate compatible with Gitzo® Ball and Pan head quick release system.

Desmond DGZ-1 is made entirely of Aluminium and costs only a small fraction of the original.
