As of November 2012 the quite large line of Hejnar PHOTO quick release clamps gets through an update phase.
The updates are few but significant for some users.
The first update concerns the adoption of a more detailed decimal scale on both jaws and the second concerns the screw knob grip texture.
Starting with the Hejnar best seller F62 (2.375") and F63 (3.25") quick release clamps all clamps will consequently be updated.
In regard of the laser engraved scale, the former scale with line marks every 10 mm is replaced with a new one which is incremented in 1 mm intervals, longer lines every 5 mm and numbers every 10 mm. The numbering begins from the center Φ mark increasing outwards on both sides.
This change will prove very helpful for a precise camera base plate or lens plate adjustment within the clamp either fore-aft or laterally depending of course on the orientation of the dovetail plate.
First implementations that come in mind are architectural photography and macro/micro photography when a long rail with decimal scale is not used.
Next the previous screw knob grip pattern of parallel groves has been changed into a diamond cut pattern. I have always considered diamond cut patterns a little pinchy on my fingertips but on the other hand it proves less slippery and promises a better grip of the knob when wearing gloves.
