The PCL-7DIIR L Bracket that was released last week, follows the latest Sunwayfoto hollowed out design with convex edges while the letter "R" at end of the model name signifys that its dovetail design is fully compatible with RRS® Lever Quick Release Clamps.
Like all Sunwayfoto products, it is one-piece, precisely CNC machined from an Aircraft grade aluminium block, it can withstand impact to effectively protect the camera and offers all necessary openings for the camera connectors.

| PCL-7DIIR is precision CNC machined from aircraft-grade aluminium with a high quality satin-black hard coat surface anodizing. The base plate is equipped with a convex edge on the rear, which prevents it from moving or twisting. This time the Sunwayfoto® logo and model name are laser engraved on the rear side together with the usual lens centering Φ marks one on the base plate and one on the vertical side plate. |

| A gap on the vertical side of the bracket permits the use of a remote release cord without need to moving the bracket away from the camera side. Somehow the formation of the vertical plate around the gap plays also a role of a stabilizing lip when the bracket is set flush against the camera side. |

| The PCL-7DIIR features a quite long captive slot for the mounting screw. This slot provides adequate movement of the vertical plate away from the camera connector's side in order to accept longer plugs than the remote release's as a USB cord for tethered shooting. Next to the slot exists an 1/4"-20 threaded hole for direct mounting on a pod without plate removal. There exists also a strap loop hole at the opposite side of the vertical plate in order to facilitate the attachment of a wrist strap. |

The L bracket follows a hollowed out design where any excess material has been removed from the bottom, in order to minimize weight, but not fully like a skeleton design. In this view we can see also two M3 safety stop screws installed on the base plate while none is provided on the vertical plate.

Mounting the Bracket on the Camera

| The right photo above shows Canon EOS 7D Mk II with a remote release cable installed. It is clear that the vertical bracket openings permit full access to the camera connectors under the rubber covers. In the left photo Canon EOS 7D Mk II is mounted on the ball head clamp in portrait orientation with no obstruction from the remote release. It is also clear that the base plate does not interfere with the battery door at the bottom which remains fully accessible. |

| Further, if needed the L bracket can be loosened and moved away from the camera body as show above which will enable the use of longer straight connector plugs like USB, HDMI, Mic or Headphones. |
The package except for the PCL-7DIIR L bracket, will also include 2 x M3 safety stop screws, 1 x 1/4"-20 captive screw and 2 x Allen wrenches for the M3 and 1/4"-20 screws respectively.
