Another lens plate has come to complement the Hejnar Photo range of plates equipped with a QD (Quick Detach) socket, combining the two worlds of Quick Release and Quick Detach on a rail.
This time the D049 lens plate is meant to support the mighty SONY FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Telephoto Lens, but also help you to carry it around in nature.

* The 1/4"-20 captive style screw will be about 0.3 inches (0.76 mm) above plate surface. If you are planning on using it with a blind hole, please check the depth of it first. As you may need a shorter screw.
The innovative Hejnar D049 Lens Plate is simple and flat without any ridge. Equipped with an alignment pin behind the mounting screw is dedicated to the lens foot of the SONY FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. It also features a double dovetail as standard as well as an the extra 1/4"-20 tapped hole for mounting on any pod with similar stud directly.
The bottom side is quite revealing of the structure of the plate. The M3 safety stop screws, followed by the QD sockets and then by 1/4"-20 mounting holes are placed symmetrically at each end of the plate. Noetheless, the plate is deeply carved to eliminate any excess material.
The QD sockets used embedded at the front and rear of the plate, are made of steel with ferritic nitrocarburizing treatment, making them extra durable with their wear-resistant surface.
Application
The QD system has been used for many years by industries around the world including NASA, law enforcement and military agencies. The design inhibits accidental removal, especially when something is hanging from the strap.
Therefore, you may attach this Hejnar Arca Style rail on the collar foot of your expensive Sony telephoto lens and then attach your favorite strap to the bottom of the plate for carrying either by one or by both sockets.
The QD sockets on the D049 are meant to attach standard push-button QD mounts. These mounts, may be both utilized by a QD Sling Swivel which would enable a sling strap to be attached on your lens at both ends for perfect balancing.
As all Hejnar QR plates the D049 is accompanied by all necessary screws and tools, which in this case are one SS 1/4"-20 captive mounting screw, two SS M3 safety cap screws and two size Allen Hex keys, one for the 1/4"-20 mounting screw and one thinner for the M3 safety stop screws.
Compatibility
Arca Swiss® compatibility is a standard for Hejnar Photo products extended to this QR clamp as well regarding its clamping jaws. Hjenar Photo products work with Arca type clamps and plates from:
