Sunwayfoto® have released earlier this month a new dedicated L bracket specifically designed for the Canon EOS 6D Body (without a battery grip).
PCL-6D follows the skeleton design with convex edges much like the PCL-5DIII L Bracket for Canon 5D Mk III which was released last year.
Like all Sunwayfoto products, it is one-piece, precisely CNC machined from an Aircraft grade aluminium block.
As Sunwayfoto becomes famous for their lightweight gear, the L Bracket couldn't differ so it just weighs 97 gr (~3.4oz), while it can withstand impact to effectively protect the camera. Further it offers all necessary openings for the camera connectors.

| PCL-6D is precision CNC machined from aircraft-grade aluminium with a high quality satin-black surface anodizing. The base plate is equipped with convex edges both at the front and the back, which prevent it from moving or twisting. This time the Sunwayfoto® logo and model name are laser engraved at the front side. |

| While the usual lens centering Φ marks are laser engraved, at the back as shown in the top left photo. A gap on the vertical side of the bracket permits the use of a remote release cord without need of moving the bracket. (Top right photo). However, due to the gap, it is advisable that a longer quick release clamp should be used to support better the bracket. That is, in order to clamp the dovetail on both sides of the gap, when in the portrait position. The bottom side reveals the Arca Swiss® compatible dovetail, two threaded holes for M3 safety stop screws at the edges and an extra 1/4"-20 threaded hole for direct mounting on a tripod or monopod without removing the plate. |

| Any excess material has been removed from the L bracket, in order to minimize weight making it a skeleton design. Unlike the PCL-5DIII, the PCL-6D features a captive slot in place of a mounting screw hole. This slot provides adequate movement of the vertical plate away from the camera connector's side in order to accept longer plugs than the remote release's as a USB cord for tethered shooting. There exists also a strap mount hole at the opposite side of the vertical plate in order to facilitate the attachment of a wrist strap. |

| The base plate convex edges and the vertical plate embrace nicely the camera curves making any twisting impossible. Further, it offers precise lens centering in either horizontal (landscape) or vertical (portrait) orientation, using the Φ centering marks. |

| The top right photo shows Canon EOS 6D with a remote release cable installed. It is clear that the vertical bracket openings permit full access to the camera connectors under the rubber covers, as well as the top camera strap loop. In the left photo Canon EOS 6D is mounted on the also new Sunwayfoto FB-36DDH2i ball head in portrait orientation with no obstruction from the remote release. It is also obvious that the battery door at the bottom is fully accessible. Further, if needed the L bracket can be loosened and moved away from the camera body (bottom right photo) which will enable the use of longer connector plugs. |
The package except for the PCL-6D L bracket, will also include 4 x M3 safety stop screws, 1 x 1/4"-20 captive screw and 2 x Allen wrenches for the M3 and 1/4"-20 screws respectively.
