New Custom L Bracket with Grip for Fujifilm X-E1 from Sunwayfoto

It seems that Fujifilm X-E1 is gaining more and more fans around the globe so another dedicated L bracket, customized to the X-E1's dimensions, was just released.
This one comes from Sunwayfoto, a brand that is also gaining popularity in the photographic community due to its continues improvement and steady quality.

The Sunwayfoto PFL-XE1 follows a three part modular design, which besides the usual horizontal and detachable vertical plates features also a removable Hand-Grip.

Sunwayfoto PFL-XE1 modular design is CNC machined from Aluminium with a total weight of 121 gr.

The Sunwayfoto PFL-XE1 L Bracket is comprised of three pieces. The hand-grip and the vertical plate may be removed very easily using the included Allen hex keys and be operated as a simple base plate when even the the slightest weight matters. The vertical plate is aligned and held in place by two screws and a dowel pin, while the hand-grip is attached via 3 smaller screws.
The hollow hand-grip embraces the right side of the camera adding some extra protection against bumbs (bottom right photo).
Two Φ center marks, one on the horizontal and one on the vertical plates, indicate the lens center axis for better alignment on precision critical applications like panoramas (bottom left photo).
Besides the camera attachment 1/4"-20 captive screw, there is also an 1/4"-20 threaded hole on the base plate for direct mounting on a pod for example.

Mounting the Bracket on the Camera

The L Bracket embraces the Fuji X-E1 body seamlessly leaving free access to the camera connector ports on the left side (bottom right photo) as well as the battery door at the bottom (Bottom left photo).

As all L-Brackets the PFL-XE1 permits the quick change of the camera orientation from landscape (horizontal) to portrait (vertical) avoiding the trouble of re-framing and rearranging the tripod and head setup.

Update Feb 2014
Starting February 2014 the Sunwayfoto PFL-XE1 L bracket is available with a slightly modified hand grip.

In this new release, a small piece of the top corner of the hand grip is cut off in order to avoid interference with the on camera Focus Assist light.

Quite clear when the L bracket is viewed from the back.

Owners of the first release PFL-XE1 may request an exchange of the original hand grip with the improved one free of charge, coming in contact with their supplier.
