New Modular L bracket for SONY alpha 6300 from Hejnar Photo

It's been a long time since Hejanr Photo had released a modular L bracket for the SONY® APS-C family of ILC cameras.
Nonetheless, Hejnar Photo has released, a few days ago, a dedicated L Bracket addressing the latest SONY alpha 6300 ILC .

Just like all of its predecessors the SA6300 Modular L Bracket follows the concept of the Modular Universal Camera L Bracket previewed in the past,  yet with a dedicated camera base and L Side plates.

At first glance the bracket is almost identical the older Hejnar Modular L bracket for SONY NEX-6 but has been refined to fit exactly to the updated SONY alpha 6300 model.

Despite many recent Hejnar camera base plates featuring a full length dovetail, is obvious from the photo above that the SN6300 follows the design of the NEX series L Brackets. Nevertheless, it is still slim with dovetails in front and back just below the lens. Two anti-twist ridges exist on both front ends of the base plate.
Centered on the base plate, just in front of the mounting screw, exists a tapped 1/4"-20 hole for direct mounting the camera on a pod without having to remove the bracket.

There are no ridges or other frills at the back of the L bracket. Just the rear extension of the base dovetail and two Φ marks one on the base plate dovetail and one on the vertical side plate, which indicate the lens center axis for proper alignment either in landscape (horizontal) or portrait (vertical) orientation.

The right side view of the L bracket shows clearly a recess on top of the vertical L side intended for the camera strap loop. Further than that we can see that the vertical side is attached via a single hex cap M4 size screw so it can be easily removed at users will with one of the included Allen keys.

As all  Hejnar L Brackets, the SN6300 comes pre-assembled, but by been modular, the vertical plate may be removed. Besides the connector screw, the base plate.has an appropriate socket for the alignment bosses existing on the vertical side plate.

The package includes: One assembled L bracket, one 1/4"-20 1/4 inch long captive style mounting screw, one M4 hex socket connecting screw for the vertical plate. Two Allen hex keys are included one for the mounting and one for the connector screw.
As a standard Hejnar feature all screws are made of chromed stainless-steel. However, there are no M3 safety stop screws residing either on the base and/or the vertical plates.

Mounting on the Camera

The SN6300 L Bracket fits nicely on the camera with a minimum increase of the camera bulk and weight. There is no interference with the movement of the LCD screen.

Plus the L Side plate allows full access to the camera connector ports, while it may also be disassembled and used as a camera Base plate only if desired.

The bottom view of the mounted Hejnar SN6300 L bracket is revealing of the base plate structure and design. The slim minimal design and the correct placement of the mounting screw below the lens center axis.
It is also obvious that the Battery door is clear, allowing full access to the battery compartment with the L bracket mounted.

According to Hejnar Photo their L Brackets are directly compatible with the original Arca-Swiss®, Kirk®, even R.R.S.®  lever clamps made in USA, yet also most Arca style quick release clamps.
