It took some time for the idea to mature and come to its first update.
Nonetheless, it is neither a refinement nor a modification update but actually an extended version of the Hejnar FB87B Flash Bracket.
Besides the extension though, it still takes far less space to carry in your bag compared to other monoblock brackets and can be set up in no time.
Nothing changes also in adjustment of height.
Nonetheless this extended version is more suitable with longer telephoto lenses, as it can lift the light beam higher.

Should we repeat here that that this is one of the most versatile Hejnar brackets which can be attached either to the quick-release Arca style plate of a collared lens or via a small nodal rail on a camera equipped with an Arca style base plate.
The base arm of the bracket is equipped with an integrated Arca-Swiss type quick release clamp, a feature which has now become dominant as the industry standard for macro and telephoto lens support systems.

The Components
The Hejnar Extended Flash bracket is modular, assembled by four components, thus being versatile and easily stowed in your camera bag or in a small space when not in use. Components connect without tools with simple to tighten thumb screws. None of the parts slip, twist or creep-even during intense action due to the existence o anti-twist pins.
Furthermore, all screw knobs are captive to prevent detachment and fall off, being accidentally unscrewed too far and be lost while in the field.

Applications
As mentioned in the beginning such an extended in height flash bracket is addressed to long telephoto lens users. It requires the existence of a lens foot with an Arca style dovetail or an Arca compatible lens plate installed on the lens.
Off camera flash and especially when positioned much higher than the lens has many merits in minimization of harsh shadows induced by the telephoto lens front barrel.
Besides the extension it is still possible to adjust the vertical distance between flash and lens, either at the extension junction or the top horizontal arm junction.

Please note that an off-camera shoe cord is needed to connect the camera hot shoe terminals with the flash terminals, unless you use a wireless flash trigger on the camera with a compatible flash. Something missing from the illustrations above since a flash cold shew was used instead.
