A totally new L bracket was just announced by Sunwfayfoto. It's their PSLO-a7RIV L bracket which as denoted by the model name, is yet another One piece custom Arca-Swiss® compatible L Bracket dedicated to the Mark IV iteration of SONY's high end full frame mirrorless camera the α7R IV.
Although Sunwayfoto had introduced their PSL-a7RIV Custom L Bracket for SONY α7RIV Camera in September Last Year, which was also One piece design not mentioned, what the new model name does not denote is a QD socket incorporated in the L bracket base and a Sling Swivel to accompany it.
Still it is quite similar to the previous PSL-a7RIV in basics, but with visible differences and some 10 gr drop in total weight.

Sunwayfoto PSLO-a7RIV Arca-Swiss® compatible custom L bracket abides to the high standards of Sunwayfoto manufacturing, being CNC machined from a single high density Aluminium block, then hard coat anodizing.
Further than that, it also follows the dovetail width standard now to all Sunwayfoto products which is compatible with almost all Arca style clamps even with RRS® lever release clamps.
The big difference with the PSLO-a7RIV is the inclusion of a QD socket and QD Sling Swivel.
The convex ridge at the front of the base plate and one boss on the top of the vertical side plate secure the bracket and act as stoppers in order to prevent it from twisting. The design of the full length dovetail on the base-plate in combination with the long captive slot of the mounting screw, allows lateral adjustment when distancing the vertical plate from the camera body side.
Similar to both previous models though, is that the base plate and vertical side plate dovetails are not aligned, but have a little offset in order to let access to the connector ports on the left camera side.
The vertical side maintains the Φ mark for lens centering while in portrait (vertical orientation) but the the mark has been replaced by a decimal scale on the rear side of the base plate allowing for minute adjustment either side of the center marked with zero (0).
Nonetheless, some focusing and framing adjustments may be needed when changing orientations due to the small offset of the vertical side plate.
The base plate is mounted on the camera via one 1/4"-20 captive mounting screw featuring a D-Ring but is also slotted. The screw resides in a 20 mm long captive slot, allowing the L bracket to be slid away from the camera side.
Due to design change there are not any M3 safety stop screws on this bracket. On the other hand there is a reinforced QD (Quick Detach) socket placed near the corner of the plates, and a total of three (3) 1/4"-20 tapped holes, located in the middle of the base and vertical plates and on the top of the vertical side plate. These could serve for mounting on a pod without removing the bracket or attach any kind of accessory equipped with an 1/4"-20 screw.
As usual it offers also a strap loop on the base end for the attachment of a wrist strap.
Mounting on the Camera
The PSLO-a7RIV L Bracket embraces and protects the Sony α7R IV body adding about 1 cm to the camera dimensions at the bottom and the left side but little weight.
The base plate runs all the width under the LCD screen, starting from the left edge and stopping just before the battery-door hinge, enabling the unobstructed exchange of batteries.
The vertical L side plate positioning permits full access to the camera side connectors through its opening with the port covers slid outwards.
As the anti-twist convex ridge is sitting against the front panel of the camera, nothing interferes with either the raising or tilting of the LCD screen at the rear.
Entering an era where photographers and especially videographers require more and more accessories to be attached on their rigs, Sunwayfoto has enriched this new L bracket with few more tapped holes to serve the purpose.
From microphones to video fill lights can be attached at will.

In this case 1 x 1/4"-20 captive screw with D-Ring and driver slot, one standard 1/4"-20 mounting captive screw, a camera screw O-ring to prevent slack and as a bonus a quality QD Sling Swivel so you can attach your own strap.
