Good news for the photographers that require a stable and sturdy Leveling Base for heavy loads and large format cameras.

According to information received from Desmond Photographic Distribution, USA, Sunwayfoto is about to release an updated version of the DYH-90 Leveling Base which will make the already successful models, even more versatile.

The DYH-90 Leveling Base Series
A short introduction, for those not so well acquainted with the Sunwayfoto DYH-90 Leveling Base series. The series is currently comprised by four models.
The base models are DYH-90 and DYH-90R where R stands for an integrated Panoramic Rotator on top of the leveling base.

The new DYH-90 Model
My information is not clear whether the new model will replace the existing DYH-90A/B but it will also come with and without a Panoramic Rotator. The main difference, however, as it is obvious from the CAD Drawing above, will be its DLC-60L removable Duo knob/Lever clamp attached on top of the Leveling Base by two screws. The versatility added by the clamp being removable and Duo, which means it can be regulated by its screw knob and operated at a flash by its Lever release, will make the Leveling base compatible with virtually any plate or rail following the Arca Swiss® standards.

    1. Sunwayfoto model DYH-90A features an integrated lever release clamp on the top platform, so it is not clear what you mean by your reference to a central screw.
Further to that, it would be easier if you stated where you purchased the DYH-90A base. Wasn't the seller willing to help you?
Nonetheless, I have contacted Sunwayfoto, who confirmed to have received a similar complaint and according to their standard policy, they have requested the user to return the product for replacement.

    1. Your'e welcome Tetzu. As this is not an operational screw, it did not cross my mind that it could come loose. Hope your problem is resolved soon.
