The L bracket is designed for the new EOS 5Ds / 5DsR camera body without a battery grip.
As with the PC-5DsR plate the R at the end of the model name denotes full compatibility with the RRS® lever release clamps.

| The Sunwayfoto PCL-5DsR is precision CNC machined from aircraft-grade aluminium with the usual Sunwayfoto high quality surface finishing and anodizing. Two convex edges at the front and a convex ridge at the back side of the base plate promise a tight fit on the camera body, thus preventing the bracket from twisting. Somehow the base plate may be considered an extension of the PC-5DsR plate. Unlike the PC-5DsR plate though, apart from the laser engraved Sunwayfoto logo and model name at the back side, here we have a laser engraved Φ mark signifying the lens center axis in the landscape orientation, but none for the vertical plain. |

| In resemblance to most Canon L brackets,m a gap on the vertical side permits the use of a remote release cord without need of moving or removing the bracket. Is obvious that any excess material has been removed from the PCL-5DsR L bracket, in order to minimize the mass making it a skeleton design. A strap mount hole exists at one end of the horizontal base plate in order to facilitate the attachment of a wrist strap. |

| The bottom side view shows the Arca Swiss® compatible but also RRS® compatible dovetail, two small diameter tapped holes for using M3 safety stop screws at both ends and an extra 1/4"-20 threaded hole for use on a matching pod stud without the need of removing the plate from the camera. For the record there is no provision for M3 safety stop screws on the vertical bracket. |

| The convex edges of the horizontal rail have a tight fit on the camera base curves, as do the extensions of the vertical rail on the left side and front of the camera. In this way any movement or twisting seems impossible. |

| From the side we can clearly see the vertical bracket openings which permit full access to the camera connectors. Allowing opening of the rubber covers, while keeping a distance from the side of the camera for larger connector plugs. The top left camera strap loop is also kept clear of the bracket vertical side. | Nevertheless, when the camera is clamped in portrait orientation on the ball head, the Sunwayfoto PCL-5DsR L bracket leaves ample distance for right angle plugs without the need of an extender or moving the L bracket away from the camera side. However, this design although considered by some versatile, some other photographers who prefer a slimmer vertical bracket flush against the camera side, may consider it bulky. |
As usual with Sunwayfoto, the package except for the PCL-5DsR L bracket, will also include 2 x M3 safety stop screws, 1 x 1/4"-20 captive screw and 2 x Allen wrenches with appropriate size for the M3 and 1/4"-20 screw heads.

Update June 2018:
As of June 11th, 2018 the PCL-5DsR has been declared as discontinued. However, there is still stock in the market and besides that Canon EOS 5DsR body is same as 5D Mk III and 5D Mk IV so the PCL-5DIII or PCL-5DIV L brackets can be used instead.
