The H121 is the second of the two Hejnar Lens Replecement Feet released in November (as mentioned in the previous post).
This one is dedicated to the extra bright telephoto coming from Canon the EF 200mm F2 L IS USM.
Somehow, the design of this lens foot is once again different than the other Hejnar replacement feet, slimmer and lighter with a dovetail extending at the back of the mounting block.
Overall, this last attribute reminds me of the Hejnar H116 Replacement Foot for Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM more than any other Hejnar model.

Nonetheless, the Hejnar H121 Replacement Foot carries the same characteristics with all Hejnar products. It is precision CNC machined out of a solid Aluminium block with a satin black hard coat anodizing with stainless steel screws.
A flat double dovetail extends from the front tip all along until behind the mounting bock. The double nature of the dovetail may be used to attach a flash bracket or any device equipped with an Arca QR clamp.
The collar mounting block although smaller than on other Canon lenses is almost solid but for a central hole, which decreases vibration transfer.

As mentioned earlier the characteristic protrusion of the double dovetail behind the mounting block looks like the design of the Hejnar H116 but the similarities stop here. Nevertheless, this feature is facilitating easier balancing of the lens on a head when the lens is combined with smaller and lighter cameras, allowing the combo to be pushed further forward.

The Hejnar H121 bottom is carved in order to eliminate any excess material, leaving only a central brace with two tapped holes, one threaded 1/4"-20 and another 3/8"-16, intended for direct mounting of the foot on pods with either size of stud.
Obviously, two M3 safety stop screws at the front and back ends of the foot rim, take care for any accidental fall off due to unlocked QR clamp.
The mounting screw holes are wider at the bottom side in order to allow for the screw caps.

Replacement of almost all Canon collar feet is straightforward and easy so is the EF 200L's. The four mounting screws on the original Canon foot should just be unscrewed using the Allen hex key provided with the Hejnar foot which is compatible with the mounting and the safety screws, as both are M3 size with a hex socket cap.

Using the same four screws, one needs just to screw back and secure the Hejnar H121 replacement foot onto the lens collar.
It is recommended to use a thread locking compound like Loctite 242 (blue) or any other equivalent product of medium strength for small screws. This will prevent the screws from loosening up in the future.
Special Note:
It should be pointed out, that although the H121 Foot leaves enough room under the lens to freely handle the lens focusing ring, or to carry the lens, yet the extra foot length does not allow for the lens hood to be revered for storage.
As on all Hejnar rails, the H121 replacement foot dovetail dimensions are compatible with Kirk®, R.R.S.®, Arca-Swiss®, and many other Arca-Swiss style Quick Release clamps.
