Finally we come to the third member of the new Sunwayfoto® line of Custom L Brackets dedicated to the latest high end Nikon mirrorless Z6 II and Z7 II Cameras.
After seeing the two piece Sunwayfoto PNL-Z6II and one piece structure Sunwayfoto PNLO-Z6II L Brackets.
The PNL-Z6IIG in discussion here is a solid structure of one piece design, intended to support the Z6 II and Z7 II cameras equipped with MB-N11 battery grip.
The PNL-Z6II will be released worldwide including the United States.
As mentioned in the previous posts the new line of dedicated Nikon L Brackets feature a QD (Quick Detach) socket, which is becoming a standard in the photographic support industry.
The L Bracket
All quality characteristics shared among the Sunwayfoto plates and L brackets are met by precision CNC machining from aircraft-grade aluminium, fine finishing and followed by high quality hard coat surface anodizing.
According to the Sunwayfoto manufacturing standards the PNL-Z6IIG L bracket components are CNCed from one piece high grade aluminum block maintaining utmost rigidity. The large bottom plate is a little more complex in design than the PNL-Z6II or PNLO-Z6II. Its surface is flat in the middle with a raised convex edges at the front and the rear, in order to embrace the battery grip base and thus protect it while preventing the bracket from twisting.
Further the standard strap loop is there at the inner end of the base plate and a stainless steel reinforced QD socket sitting behind the mounting screw slot, towards the end of the base, close to vertical plate.
The L bracket bottom is deeply carved wherever possible in order to eliminate excess material, thus keep the weight down. Quite successfully considering a total weight of 142 gr for such a sizable brcket.
Both the vertical side and the base plates are equipped with two M3 safety stop screws each, positioned at their dovetail ends.
Two extra 1/4"-20 tapped holes exist, one is located towards the mid-rear of the base plate and one low on the side plate.
The base plate dovetail and the side vertical plate dovetail are not completely aligned so there may be a minor need for re-framing and/or re-focusing when changing from landscape to portrait orientation and vice versa.
The Bracket is equipped with a 1/4"-20 D-Ring captive camera mounting screw, which runs within a quite long captive slot.

Attaching the L Bracket on the Camera
The PNL-Z6IIG L Bracket much like its sibling fits seamlessly on the Nikon Z6II and Z7II bodies equipped with the MB-N11 battery Grip, maintaining the smallest bulk possible, while reinforcing the camera combo adding rigidity.
Obvious when looking from behind, we can see the laser engraved Φ lens centering marks at the rear side of the PNL-Z6IIG base and on the vertical side plate.
The large extensions which hold the vertical side plate on the base plate are bent and positioned in such a way to allow for the unobtrusive tilting of the LCD screen as illustrated below.
Also special effort has been given by Sunwayfoto engineers so as the side connector covers as well as the battery drawer may be accessed and opened without the need of relocating the L bracket distancing the vertical side plate in order to do so.
As mentioned previously the ample length of the slot where the mounting screw runs gives enough space between the vertical side plate and the camera body, in order to accommodate larger plugs in the side connectors of the camera when in portrait mode.
Many photographers nowadays appreciate the merits of the QD Sling Straps as they are a fast, strong offering a safe attachment and detachment mechanism, which made them very popular, borrowed from the tactical arms world however.
Nonetheless, Sunwayfoto has adopted the system offering also a heavy duty Dacron sling strap which features a QD socket, the STR-01, to complement their recent L bracket lines.

The PNL-Z6IIG package, besides the L bracket contains also all necessary screws and tools. In this case 4 x M3 safety stop screws for the bottom and side plates, 1 x 1/4"-20 D-Ring captive screw and 2 x Allen wrenches 2.5mm for the M3 screws and 4mm for the 1/4"-20 screw respectively.
A velvet draw-string protective bag is also supplied to accommodate everything.
