Create an Economy Leveled Panoramic Rotator via a Ball Head Flip-Kit
More and more photographers, especially amateur, get enthusiastic with panoramic photography, either because they discover inherent features in their newly acquired camera or because they get intrigued of having higher resolution landscape photos.
The point is that the more you get involved, the more you realize that for better panoramas with less stitching problems you need horizontally level panning. Especially for single-row cylindrical panoramas which are the most common.

New Line of User Serviceable QR Clamps Announced by Desmond
Among the goodies I have received for evaluation from Desmond Photographic Distributors a few days ago, were also three new lightweight, Arca-Swiss® compatible quick release clamps with an innovative design.
Besides the Disc shape, the common denominator of these three QR clamps is a unique moving jaw mechanism, that permits easy dis-assembly so they can be serviced by the end user.

An Innovative Articulated Flash Bracket from Sunwayfoto
I have many times declared a fan of innovation and unique design.
Far more when it comes from a Country broadly known for its copying abilities. :)
Among the products released from Sunwayfoto earlier today, was their first Flash Bracket model.
Sunwayfoto TFB-01 is a fresh idea, approaching the functions required from a flash bracket, with a unique articulated design.

Desmond DAC-X1 Skeleton Quick Release Clamp Review
Up to now Desmond QR Clamps were classified in my mind as flat, solid, robust products justifying some compromises in appearance and weight due to their low budget pricing.
Somehow, when I first saw the drawings of the new Desmond DAC-X1 QR Clamp, I was first surprised and second I figured that it would cost at least double than its siblings. Well that's not the case.

Lack of Desmond Products Branding Answered
Although in the beginning some of the products distributed by Desmond Photographic Distributors had the Desmond brand laser engraved on the product and clearly labeled on the box, after a while the samples I received lacked any branding.
Only the model name was discretely engraved on a side.
This is not a usual marketing procedure however. Therefore, I decided to ask Desmond why none of their product samples show the Desmond brand name, or indeed, any markings at all except a model number.
Well the reply, which I attach below, was interestingly, a very novel approach to today's market:
"When we launched our first product, the 50mm clamp DAC-01, we produced some with the Desmond logo, and some without.
The ones without we intended for our OEM customers to market as their own brand.
Since the sales of the OEM "unbranded" product far exceeded the sales of the branded with the "Desmond" logo products, and because adding the logo increases cost and production time, ever since we have gone with strictly OEM (no Desmond logo).
This strategy has proven to be a huge winner for us. We also produce customized versions of many of our products and also some exclusive products for our OEM customers.
Regards, Desmond".
