Hejnar Photo re released their H102 Arca style Replacement Foot for the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200mm f/2.ED-IF VR and VR II with the addition of a QD (Quick Disconnect) Socket.
It seems that QD sockets and straps are becoming a standard lately so many Hejnar models are updated likewise.
The Arca-Swiss® compatible lens foot fits on the lens collar, thus allowing the lens to be mounted more properly on ball heads and Gimbals with Arca style clamps.
The H102 Lens foot complements the Hejnar family of Replacement Feet for Nikon lenses, like the H129 Replacement Foot compatible with 500mm and 600mm Nikkor lenses, and the Low Profile Replacement Foot for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR we have previewed in the past.

The H102 follows the general standard maintained in the Hejnar family. Each foot is precision CNC machined out of a solid Aluminium block with a double dovetail in front and the appropriate collar base at the rear. Nonetheless, the H102 is extremely lightweight compared to many other replacement lens feet from other makes, as it weighs no more than a lens plate.
The front double dovetail enables a flash bracket or any other device with a small Arca QR clamp to be mounted on the top dovetail while the foot is clamped on a head by the lower one.
The H102 features both an 1/4"-20 and a 3/8"-16 tapped holes, allowing the foot to be alternatively mounted on any kind of pod with an equivalent stud.
Two M3 safety stop screws come pre-installed one at the front end and one at the rear end of the foot, keeping it within the clamp limits preventing any accidental slip offs in case the QR clamp is not closed firmly.
What makes it different from its predecessors though, is the QD Socket placed behind the tapped holes which allows the Quick attachment and detachment of a Sling Strap.
Installation on the Lens
Replacement of the Nikon Foot is very straightforward. All it needs, is to release and remove the original short Foot, place the H102 Replacement on the Foot Collar and then secure it with the four provided M3 screws.
It is recommended to use a thread locking compound like Loctite 242 (blue) or any other equivalent product of medium strength for small screws. This will prevent the mounting screw from loosening up sometime in the future.
Beside the H102 Replacement Foot, the package contains two (2) M3 safety stop screws pre-installed, four (4) M3 mounting screws 10mm long and an Allen hex key appropriate for the M3 screws.
The H102 Replacement Foot is conveniently longer - allowing you to carry the lens - and taller than the original, allowing full manipulation of the lens focusing ring.
However please note that it does not allow for hood reversal for storage. Somehow the same would happen if any Arca style lens plate were installed on the original foot.
Compatibility
Arca Swiss® compatibility is a standard for Hejnar Photo products extended to this Custom Lens Foot as well regarding both its dovetails on top and the bottom. Hjenar Photo products work with Arca type clamps from:
