Hejnar Photo announced the release of three iterations of custom support for the Nikon Nikkor Z 70-200 mm f2.8 S VR medium telephoto zoom lens with or without the addition of a QD (Quick Disconnect) Socket.
As the QD sockets and straps are becoming a standard in the photographic world lately therefore many Hejnar models are updated likewise.
The Arca-Swiss® compatible lens plates are to be mounted on the existing lens foot, while the replacement foot fits on the lens collar. Each one has its merits but all allow the lens to be mounted more properly on ball heads and Gimbals equipped with Arca style clamps.
The New Lens Plates and Replacement Foot complement the Hejnar family of custom plates for Nikon lenses, like the H102 Replacement Foot for Nikon AF-S 200 mm f2 ED-IF VR and VR II the H129 Replacement Foot compatible with 500mm and 600mm Nikkor lenses, and the Low Profile Replacement Foot for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR we have previewed in the past.
All of the products follow the general standard maintained in the Hejnar family. Each plate or foot is precision CNC machined out of a solid Aluminium block with a double dovetail and then hard coat anodized for maximum durability.

Starting with the H132, it is extremely lightweight compared to many other plates from other makes, as it weighs a mere 43 gr.
The H132 comes with two 1/4"-20 mounting screws spaced according to the specs of the original Nikkor lens foot.
The front double dovetail enables a flash bracket or any other device with a small Arca QR clamp to be mounted on the top dovetail while the foot is clamped on a head by the lower one.
The H132 features an extra 1/4"-20 tapped holes, allowing the foot to be alternatively mounted on any kind of pod with an equivalent stud.
Two M3 safety stop screws come pre-installed one at the front end and one at the rear end of the foot, keeping it within the clamp limits preventing any accidental slip offs in case the QR clamp is not closed firmly.
Any extra material is carved out to eliminate excess weight, leaving only a couple of reinforcements for the mounting screws.

The Hejnar H132QD is almost the same as its sibling in design, but a little longer and slightly heavier. Furthermore the extra 1/4"-20 tapped hole gives its place to a QD socket located near the rear of the plate.
Likewise the bottom is reorganized with proper reinforcements for the mounting screws plus a thicker portion to host the QD socket at the rear.

Coming to the NFR001 Replacement Foot it follows a quite simple design with a flat top surface and an appropriately formatted block which size and shape fits the specific Nikkor lens collar.
It features an almost full length double dovetail allowing for the attachment of flash brackets or other accessories equipped with an Arca style clamp.
Besides the extra 1/4"-20 tapped hole there is a QD socket for mounting on any pod or either carried by a Sling Strap.
The bottom side of the NFR001 Replacement Foot is symmetrically carved eliminating extra mass, with the 1/4"-20 tapped hole, followed by the QD socket laying in series on a reinforced brace.
The rear block has a socketed hole to accommodate the 1/4"-20 mounting screw on the lens collar.

Safety-wise, two M3 safety stop screws are pre-installed, one at each end of the bottom dovetail of the foot protecting your lens from falling off a semi closed QR clamp.

All Hejnar Photo products are always accompanied by the required mounting screws and Allen Hex keys.
With the H132 and H132QD packages come two (2) M3 safety stop screws pre-installed, two (2) 1/4"-20 mounting screws with hex cap and the appropriate size Allen hex keys for the 1/4"-20 and M3 screws.
Installation on the Lens
Mounting of the H132 and H132QD Lens plates on the Lens Foot is straightforward. Just align and tighten evenly the two 1/4"-20 mounting screws.
When Hejnar H132 Lens Plate is attached on the Z 70-200 VR S lens foot allows only a small portion of the front to be used for the attachment of extra accessories via the double dovetail.
The Hejnar H132QD Lens Plate being longer allows for better handling and balancing of the camera l/ lens combo when attached on the Z 70-300 VR S lens foot as illustrated below.
Furthermore the H132QD is obviously compatible with QD sling swivels that would enable carrying or securing your lens by a sling strap.
Likewise the replacement of the Nikon Foot with the NFR001 is also very straightforward. All it needs, is to release and remove the original short Foot, place the NFR001 Replacement on the Foot Collar and then secure it with the provided 1/4"-20 screw.
The NFR001 Replacement Foot is conveniently longer - allowing you to carry the lens - and it's more convenient to attach extra equipment on its top dovetail rather than the original foot equipped with a lens plate.
Once again the existence of a QD socket, gives the ability to carry or secure your lens with a Sling Strap.
It is recommended to use a thread locking compound like Loctite 242 (blue) or any other equivalent product of medium strength for small screws. This will prevent the mounting screw from loosening up sometime in the future.
