Sunwayfoto YLS-G3 Double Y-Type Long Lens Support Review

Sunwayfoto YLS-G3 supporting Sigma 800 mm EX DG APO beast

Some of the older SCV Photography Ideas readers may recall a series of articles engaged with solutions for the stabilization of long telephoto lenses via Long Lens Support Brackets (LLSBs).

But what happens when you want to support a real monster like the SIGMA 800 mm f/5.6 EX DG APO HSM lens? Well trust me a simple bracket as the ones we have seen up to now is not enough then.
Triggered by user demand, Sunwayfoto has gone all the way in introducing a series of Long Lens Support Kits named YLS-G1 through G3 addressing different lens lengths. Their largest model YLS-G3 capable of supporting the Sigma beast is in review here.

Shooting Food at MissHelen Music Restaurant

Shooting food plates can be a straight forward procedure for some, or become a quite complex task depending on what you want to accomplish.
Nowadays, everyone or almost everyone (as I'm not included) is with a smartphone in hand shooting food in restaurants transferring the image on social media. On the other hand when a restaurant wants to promote their dishes, chooses more sophisticated methods.

Mexican Shrimp and Golden Shrimp Plants

Justicia Brandegeeana - Mexican Shrimp plant flower detail

A small plant in the shape of bush caught my eye this summer, due to its peculiar orange colored flowers. Their petals form a scaly like body, which resemble shrimps even to the detail of their pop-out eyes.

Desmond D7DG Custom QR Plate for Canon EOS 7D w/ Grip Review

Desmond D7DG Custom QR Plate on Canon EOS 7D w/ Grip
Although the once top of the line APS-C sensor size digital camera the Canon EOS 7D is at the end of life, it is still a very fast digital camera for many.

I have already published solutions for the support of the EOS 7D either with or without the battery grip. However, I have been using the Desmond D7DG Arca-Swiss® compatible quick release plate lately, custom made for the BG-E7 battery grip, which proved very convenient in most cases.

Green Blue Sea Waters Against White Cloud Formations

Green Blue Sea Waters at Skala Kefalonia I

Sitting on the 7 km long sandy beach of Skala* one early August afternoon, I soothed my gaze into the deep green and blue waters of the Ionian Sea. The contrasty bright white cloud formations gathering above the mainland were a great incentive to let my laziness go and reach for my camera.

Desmond DAL-02 Universal Modular L Plate Overview
Along with the release of a number of Custom Arca-Swiss® compatible Quick Release plates and L Plates for Canon, Nikon and Fujifilm cameras, Desmond Photographic Distributors have enriched their collection with DAL-02 a Universal Modular L Plate this time.

There are two details in the L Plate design that differentiates it from the majority of universal plates. One easily spotted and one not so obvious unless you get tipped off.
