Quite after a long time from its initial release, the article about the concept of my Heavy Duty Multi Row Panorama Head was updated and refined according to the latest versions of the components.

Many times scheduled and postponed it's finally revived.

As a short reminder this Heavy Duty Multi Row Panorama Head structure was designed to cope with large telephoto lenses or large medium format cameras with minimal to none flex or vibrations.

Featuring Indexing Panoramic Rotators both on the vertical arm and the horizontal plain, plus an optional leveling base will give utmost versatility for the creation of standard to Gigapixel Panoramas.

Create a Heavy Duty Multi-Row Panorama Head

The release of the 5/8" thick Hejnar PHOTO G15/16 Series of Multi-Purpose Rails quite a long time ago, inspired me to start studying and further improve the design of my Arca compatible Multi Row Panorama Head Ver. II .

Well, there is nothing wrong with the Ver II Panorama Head sturdiness or functionality as it is, but I wanted to push the limits farther.

This time the goal was to construct a Panorama (Panoramic) Head that would withstand even more heavy loads at an offset position, like heavy long telephoto and/or zoom lenses for HDR / Gigapixel Panoramic photography, or medium format cameras and their lenses, with the absence of any vibration.

The project passed different phases, from defining the needs, to testing and finding the limitations of rails, panoramic rotators, ball heads or leveling bases and all the links in the support chain in general.

Announcement of TRIOPO AD-10 Automatic Motorized Panorama Head

Up to now TRIOPO® has been successfully involved in the manufacture of budget Aluminium and Carbon Fiber tripods like the GT-3228X8C or the GX-1328 and/or Budget ball heads and Gimbal heads, some of which I have reviewed in the past.
In parallel with their camera support gear they also carry a full series of Studio and battery operated Field Flashes under the OUBAO brand name, as well as a series of speedlights like the TR-982 E-TTL which are mostly sold in their vast internal Chinese market.

Benro DP70 Indexed Panorama Clamp Release

Athough the Benro DP-70 Panorama "Head" (as called by Benro) was first introduced in September 2014 during the Photokina Show, there was neither much publicity about it hence. Nor is there any reference to it in the international Benro website(s).

Despite the fact, that it is not actually a Panorama Head but rather a Panoramic Arca-Swiss® compatible QR clamp, which nevertheless may be the base of a Benro Multi Row Panorama Head, it is worth mentioning since it features a most innovative indexing mechanism.

This somehow, is not a face lifted version of their original DDP-64S since the addition of the letter "I" at the end of the model name signifies substantial enhancements aka improvements.

Novoflex Panorama=Q 6/8 II Plate Review

The new Panorama=Q 6/8 II Plate is in other terms an Indexed Panoramic Rotator with predetermined detent intervals aka click stops. It conforms to a quite slim standard according to Novoflex, with a small diameter so that the use of wide-angle lenses is possible without any interference problems.

A little while after the release of the updated DDP-64M Panoramic Indexing Rotator, Sunwayfoto has also released a face lifted version of their more compact and lighter DDP-64S Panoramic Indexing Rotator, which is already in the market by now.

Sunwayfoto has released an updated version of their DDP-64M Panoramic Indexing Rotator, which is reaching the market this days.
Awkwardly enough, the new version does not follow the Sunwayfoto custom to include an "i" for improved at the end of the model name, which makes it a little difficult to discriminate it from the previous version.

Sunwayfoto DDP-64SX Panoramic Indexing Rotator Review

Sunwayfoto DDP-64S Panoramic Indexing Rotator is a reduced size version of the Sunwayfoto DDP-64M reviewed earlier, in an even more compact and lighter body. However, the reduction of size also means some reduced functions as well, which we shall see further in a direct comparison.

The "X" at the end of the DDP-64SX model name signifies that the Indexing Rotator is equipped with the AM-01 Arca Mount plate.
